Hi Language Buddy!
I'd like to share some insights I gained from a blogging course I've been taking as part of my business development journey. The course instructor shared a valuable lesson that can be applied not only to business growth but also to language learning: People often overestimate what they can accomplish in one year and underestimate what they can achieve in three years.
For instance, in the context of business development, the instructor mentioned that during the first year of his business, he experienced a slow start. However, after three years, the results were impressive. This principle of setting realistic expectations and having a long-term perspective is equally applicable to language learning.
Many people set unrealistic goals for their first year of learning a new language, only to become demotivated when they don't progress as quickly as they'd hoped. At the same time, they underestimate the incredible progress that can be made with consistent, bite-sized study sessions over three years.
So, I encourage you to adopt a long-term perspective in your language learning journey. Give yourself permission to take it easy and see this as a marathon rather than a sprint. By maintaining your interest and studying consistently, you can truly bask in the glow of the progress you'll achieve in three years from now.
That's my message for today. Keep up the great work, and let's continue making strides in our language learning endeavors!
